Leap for Recovery

This is a charity that I do every year, in honor of my mother. Throughout her life, she spent many long stays at the hospital. This was especially true for the last three years before she passed. During that time, I would do a quick, cute drawing to cheer her up, and leave them with her.

To continue the tradition, I donate 30 artworks each year to the University of Nebraska Medical Center. On her birthday, these artworks are given to patients to cheer them up.

2023 Drawings

Last year, the production process was thoroughly figured out, as well as which supplies are both affordable and good quality. That means this year I can focus fully on creating the art! Extra thanks to my friend Fefe for helping assemble them and paint a background on one of them. No matter how many times I plan ahead and get started early, I never manage to not have a panicked weekend of "oh no, these gotta get done!" But they're always worth it.

2022 Drawings

The 5th year of drawing and donating! I donated 33 drawings in 2022 which is super exciting. 2022 was the year we figured out how to streamline the process of preparing the drawings for being donated. After finished being drawn and colored, each image was: scanned, glued to a colored mat board (creating a frame), adding a stand to the back, and adding a label on the back.

All of the extra drawings will be asked to be donated to the nurse's stations around the hospital, because in these trying times, I think they could use an extra smile^^

2020 Drawings

This year there were 34 drawings donated to the hospital. For every donation of $10, I added another drawing to go to patients. This helped cover some of my material costs. I'm extremely grateful for those who supported me, and helped me.

2019 Drawings

This year I was a few drawings short due to time constraints of a busy school schedule.

2018 Drawings

This was the first year that I donated Leap for Recovery drawings. Regrettably, I do not have pictures of all of them.
